Manchester United have lost their dominant figure in world football after losses against Barcelona and Chelsea

The reason is that they have lost out on key players or lack such key player when it comes to big games....barca have xavi, iniesta and messi who can thwart oppositions and chelsea have essien, lampard and malouda who can give oppositions a run for their money.... Manchester united have lost out on CR7 and tevez yet have bought Owen and Valencia...they are good player no doubt...but do they have what it takes to match against such formidable opponents?

Firstly, I take your points........ and laugh at them. When did you start supporting Manchester United? Yesterday? Don't just try to have a chat without bringing the facts to the table. Manchester United have been faced with this types of situation on many occasions before. The likes Beckham, Cantona, Ince, Hughes, Scmeichel, Kanchelskis and many have left for "So called" greener pastures in the past. Many of the so called "Fans" have then doubted the teams ability to continue dominance and moved on to whomever is holing whatever trophy at that point. What happens then? The great Manchester United comes back Bigger, Better and Stronger e.g. Kanchelskis to Beckham, BeckHam to Ronaldo and lots more. Many thought we'd never get back from losing Cantona, but hey guess they were wrong too. So stop complaining and move to another team, I hear Real, Barca, Man City etc are looking for fans. Only true Reds believe in the heart of the club, players will come and go, But Manchester United will outlast them all!!!!!!!!!

hehehehehehe....I shud laugh off for what you have said adrian...United...lost their touch?? by loosing 2 players?? When beckham was sold, everyone thot it was end of their dominance..In came Ronaldo, who was relatively unknown...Now this time, Ronaldo has gone...Who knows..who's going to be the next big star at OT...I admit barca hv a bit edge over other teams, but talking abt chelsea...well, m sorry they don't hv stars who were born there...So utd might be dormant this season but have not lost their touch...They will be back with a bang...In fact, i believe united hv become a harder team to crack after CR7 went...

of course we'll miss ronaldo he's a great loss.but i think this will be a year for other players to shine?we'll probably play a more rigid 4-4-2 ,but if the service from midfield to rooney and owen/berbatov is good we'll get goals?i hope anderson improves greatly this year i think he could have been a little in awe of ronaldo at times and he might think "this is his time to shine"?the wings could be the key to lots of goals as in past united teams? we've played this way for years fergie will coach them to win like always?i think a 4th title in 4 years is very possible, but i think ronaldo will be missed most in the champions league?

Manchester didn't lost their touch... They just lost 2 players. Thet's all!!!. But, as well as, the got other players, like Owen, we know we can remember and celebrate that beautiful and glorious moments again!!. Just trust in the players. Ferguson knows how to play, that's why he ask for them. Just think, and I know we'll be the best team again. FOR MANCHESTER!!!!

There is no doubt that Manchester United have that ability of bouncing back from such situations but if u were to consider the facts over the past few years they have shown a little vunerability.... Manchester United had a rough last season maybe because there were too many games to play considering they won the chamoipns league the previous year (Yes!!!) and tht had compelled them to play in the club world cup and the europa super cup.... maybe wht team i wud want to see at OT is the squad tht wud go out on the pitch and wud dominate when the whistle blows from 0-90 min they wud put everything and win it as convincing winners and not drab 1-0 wins and draws.... just so u noe im a die hard manchester united fan...n i wud support them thru thick and thin(see i wanted to even be married to them) its not tht bcoz they lose i hate them...is tht when they lose...i feel tht i have lost even though i havent played....when i see man utd lose to teams even though they were deserved winners like this time communiy shield fixture or two yrs ago FA cup where they lost because a fart dint give giggs tht goal against chelsea....wtf man... im upset everytime they lose n im worried tht when other supporters read the paper and see Man utd lose or sumthing n they come up to me n show it...wht do i say besides the occasional we were deserved winners and we played the better side the whole game....all they have to say is tht u lost.... i never had such a traumatic effect when for the first time in my life i saw man utd walk on the pitch in rome n got outplayed by arguably one of the best players in the worl...i cudnt even bare to watch the whole match..... i never want to see the red devils on the losing side of the scoresheet....as a team they have been thru rough times...their top goal scorer in the past two seasons departing...losing tht so ever wanted 3rd champions trophy which was never seen.... call me a major critic but i am a united fan no matter wht....i just want to see them win trophies all the time and o never want to see any other team do so....if they start to lose i have a right to say wht happened? are they losing it? when they lost to liverpool at home (F**k them) we thought we wud bounce back against fulham...wht happened? i dont want to noe.... all i want to see is the DEVILS walk on the pitch and show the opponents HELL!!!!

Adrian, I understand the point that you are trying to make but seriously we have been, there seen that and came out successful in the end. It is nothing new for United or for that matter any great club. THe reason it is so pronounced with United (once again ur thought, I do not feel so) is because we have a tradition of building players and the worlds best ones, so it is bound for critics and sometimes even hard core fans to question the future. But after being a fan for the past 10 years and having seen all these moments when Becks left, I reckon we are more like the Phoenix. You might burn us to ashes but we shall rise again to glorious heights and life once again. I hope that sums up ur case. Also the fact about us playing well and losing at the end is not really so pronounced as it seems. Remember, there have been moments when we have played shit and yet came out successful. But I guess that is more of introspect than retrospect. Glory ManUtd.

As long as fergie is Manutd's manager, united will never fall...As long as loosing is concerned, Some players as well as teams have gud days as well as bad days...Guess juve got hammered by villareal 4-1 in the pre-season...Do you think juventus is not going to be in the top10 teams in italy after that??? Moreover fergie is a great tactician...I've seen at times, even if he looses, he has got something behind that lose...Remember liverpool were certain to take away the crown last season but still united overtook them and at the end finished 4 points clear...At the end of the day, winning and loosing matters only if we loose the premier league...isnt it???

Manchester United have lost two guys that are going to be hard to replace in Ronaldo and Tevez.I see a top 4 finish;but no trophy's as far as EPL and Champions league go's.

would you agree, that should there be another challenger to Messi's supreme performances this year (apart from Xavi and Iniesta), it'd well be Rooney
