Los Blancos won it 1-0 with the only goal, scored by Predrag Mijatovic in the second half. This time, the Spaniards were even more persuasive. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the score with a first-time shot from inside the box in the 20th minute after an assist by Daniel Carvajal. Then, Juve managed to equalize. Mario Mandzukic scored with bicycle kick after a header pass by Gonzalo Higuain.

That goal was crucial for the outcome, as Juventus started to play more offensively. Just 3 minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second of the night, giving Buffon no chance to react. 7 minutes before the end of the game, the referee Felix Brych sent Juan Cuadrado off, which totally decided the game. Then, the substitution Marco Asensio also put the ball into the net in the last minute, to fix the final score – 4-1 in Real Madrid’s favour.

Los Blancos won The Champions League in two consecutive campaigns. They won the last year’s final against Atletico Madrid after penalty shootout.
