Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima also being popularly known as Ronaldo was born in the poor suburbs of Rio de Janeiro under the name Luis Nazario de Lima. Driven by his childhood hero Zico , the youngster started to play football early in his life. By his 12th birthday he was playing in an organized youth club called Tennis Club Valqueire. In the following few years, he participated in various youth tournaments and began attracting attention from all sides. Soon afterwards, Cruzeiro di Belo Horizonte snatched up the youngster on a $50,000 transfer.
