Federación Mexicana de Fútbol controls Mexico national football team – El Tri. Until recently Mexico has participated in thirteen World Cups wherein they were a part of all the last four world cups. In 1970 and 1986 FIFA World Cups both hosted by Mexico they managed to only reach the Quarterfinals. It was 1930 when Mexico first participated in a World Cup and the next appearance was only after a long wait of 20 years i.e. in the 1950 FIFA World Cup. It was not before 1970 that Mexico managed to make their presence felt to the fans. Until then they struggled to make any impact and where considered to be sharpening their skills while competing against European and South American teams.
