AaB

A group of English engineers, who built the Jutland railway system, were responsible for the establishment of Aalborg Boldspilklub in 1885. A man called Nick was the Founding President of the club. The club began life with cricket, not football. Initially, it was named Aalborg Cricketklub and changed its name to Aalborg Boldklub (Aalborg Ballclub) in 1899. Certain amateur players began playing football in 1902, and this grew to be a major sport in the club. Ultimately, the name was changed to Aalborg Boldspilklub af 1885 in 1906. In 1987, the club founded a professional branch of AaB A/S to run a professional football team.
