Luka Modrić

Luka Modrić [ˈluːka ˈmɔːdritɕ] (born September 9, 1985 in Zadar ) is a Croatian football midfielder who plays for Tottenham Hotspur . Also a regular in the Croatian national team, Modrić was named the Prva HNL "Player of the Year" in 2007 whilst at Dinamo Zagreb . Having spent his childhood under harsh war conditions in Croatia, Modrić started to play football as a poverty struck child and quickly showed his young potential. After spending time in the youth ranks of NK Zadar, he eventually established himself as one of the most promising Croatian talents as he was secured by Dinamo Zagreb as a teenager in 2001 before adapting with loan spells at Zrinjski Mostar and Inter Zaprešić.
