Another top defender to emerge from the land of catenaccio, Giorgio Chiellini has established himself as a one of the finest Italian centre backs of his generation and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of his many predecessors. He began his career playing at left back as well but has made the centre back position his own for both club and country. Uncomprosing and of decent height, he is never one to shirk from a last-ditch tackle and also has a knack for scoring headers in set-piece situations.
