Daniel Parejo Muñoz (born April 16, 1989 in Coslada, Madrid ) is a Spanish professional footballer. He is a central midfielder, plays currently for Spanish giants Real Madrid . Parejo is a product of Real Madrid 's youth academy. Then coach Bernd Schuster was impressed by the youngster and called him up to train with the senior team on several occasions. On 4 August, 2008, Parejo signed a one-year loan deal with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers, and made his QPR debut five days later, coming off the bench in the 2-1 victory over Barnsley at Loftus Road . Parejo made 18 appearances for QPR. On 17 December, 2008, Real Madrid recalled him from loan effective January 1, 2009, after first-team midfielders Ruben de la Red and Mahamadou Diarra were both out for the season with injuries. [1] Parejo was given the squad number 17, which had previously been assigned to striker Ruud van Nistelrooy who is also out injured for the rest of the season. Parejo had been recently called up for the under-21 squad. He has played in several qualification matches for the 2009 UEFA European U-21 Championship . An attacking midfielder however likes to come deep to get the ball then move up the field with quick one two’s. Parejo has an excellent range of passing and good creativity. Having watched him for Spain ’s Under 19 team he reminds me a little bit of Andrea Pirlo . Mainly due to his ability to make things happen from a deep lying position – a quartista. Parejo can also take an excellent free kick. Alfredo Di Stefano has rated him as the best youth player at Real Madrid.
