He came on as a sub last night and scored pretty much straight away. Also has a decent goal-to-game ratio for Spurs.

Roma can be useful, but he's not a superstar. perhaps he should return to russia

I think you are right about having a big name, and Defoe is quality...but yesterday he wasnt at his best (hasnt been for a few games). I was ecstatic when Pav scored...I love it when a player who has not been getting much of a chance comes on and works some magic... next up Giovani dos Santos!

@ Dan K, Have to agree with you about Defoe he seems to be after taking his foot off the gas a bit. As for Giovanni i hope he stays fit and he gets a chance although i wonder if harry actually wants to give him a chance?? Pav Should get a run in the side aswell i think he might give us something different at the moment were very predictable, and teams are setting up a 5 man midfield to stop us playing. Are We going to throw away 4th Spot because we cant kill teams off??

Pav has the ability but I don't know if Tottenham is the team he can hit his prime. FPLBlog - http://fantasypremierleagueblog.blogspot.com/

it is tough times right at this moment for Spurs strikers - as you say Dan Defoe is out of form (shouldn't last long), keane hasn't looked sharp this season (prob doesn't help that he is playing wide midfield most times he comes on but he has started a few up front), Pav has never started so who knows how good he is and Crouchy should start every game but doesn't no doubt cos Arry is trying to keep keane happy. So what do we do? Sell keane? Sell Pav? Sell both? Here's what i'd do - form two big man-little man partnerships - Crouch and defoe are number one and Keane and Pav could be number two - always play them together so they strike up a rapport with each other. This way they at least get a fair chance to succeed or fail. Number one plays most EPL games, number two the rest. Otherwise we'll never know whether these multi-million pound investments were any good and do knee jerk selling/buying.

@Stephen - Harry does not have 2 many competitions this season, only the premiership and FA cup, so there is no real need to rest players and he can play his preferred Defoe-Crouch partnership in all games which he's been doing lately.... @Dan - Harry really needs to give Giovanni a chance, the kid was brilliant at Barca, could'nt have become that bad.... and where the hell is Bentley? He was so good at Blackburn, might as well sell him and make some dough. Lennon is key for Spurs, when is he back ? An option for some games could be to play Defoe as lone striker, with Kranjcar on the left, Lennon on the right, and Modric given a free-to-roam role

Personally I want Pav to stay and it makes me angry the way he has been treated. You all may disagree but I think Pav is a better player than keane and Crouch. He has a great first touch and fantastic awareness. Last January Harry bought Defoe back and Pav and Defoe had a really good partnership going. Then Defoe gets injured and Keane comes back and Pav started sliding down the pecking order. He isn't one of Harry's signings and so isn't given a proper chance even though it could be good for the team.

@Akhil - your lone striker suggestion would have worked if we still had Darren Bent...but we dont! ;-) Dying for GDS to get a chance, and Bentley...who knows where he is.

@THwurzel - Pav is far off the finished product/complete player. And I doubt he is the man to fire us to glory. But on impact alone, he deserves a chance, especially when the others aren't firing on all cylinders. But maybe it's just down to work rate, and from what i understand, Harry Redknapp thinks that Pav is a lazy one.

haha Pav has always looked lazy. he's the kind of player best when two/three creative, speedy players hover slightly behind him. Pav admits that Hiddink got the best of him through personal challenges. its hard to imagine Arry's Spurs accomodating this, especially not when the likes of Defoe, Keane or Crouch are on the side

All depends, if we make the Champions league, we should keep him, so possibly we should stay and see

Well, supposedly my hopes of Dos Santos getting a chance are about to go out the window...apparently about to move on loan to Galatasaray... and rumours today that Birmingham are going to step up their interest in Pavlyuchenko...Harry Redknapp just came out and said he doesnt necessarily want Pav to go though...could just be trying to get as much money for him as possible.

I'm glad for Giovanni, he would have gotten more playing time at Barca than he did at Tottenham.

And the other Arry, Harry Kewell is waiting for him there with Jo and Elano to smash some goals in the Europa League for Galatasaray in the Shadow of the "Welcome to Hell" banners.
