Well, SAF have him a chance but he could not live with it. That is all, really. He is too slow for the game now - the Owen of 2005 or something like that could have scored another four goals for us against a team like Hull...

Owen was amazing in his hey day, and i guess SAF couldn't turn down the option of getting him for free...

SAF did not buy him to start him in games, since he cannot dribble past defenders, no does he have the pace to get away from them. He has been bought to be subbed in at 70 or 80 mins when a crucial goal is needed, because the percentage of him hitting his shot on target when given a chance is higher than most who might choke under pressure. This comes with experience and he was always a clinical finisher.
