What i have noticed in the past 10 years is the growth of the home based English players. They are better at ball control, stamina and skill, this is due to the influx of the foreign players coming into the club set up and they now have to improve to get a game, this is all good, so with Beckham not going to the world cup, i feel that will not cause a major problem for England. They have enough quality in the team that can compensate for his loss. In saying that, i still don't think they will win the world cup, they are still not good enough for the likes of Brazil, Germany, Italy or France.

@John - agree... hopefully it wont be too much of a problem. but feel that with all the turmoil going on within the england squad right now, beckham's presence would have had a calming effect. hopefully he will be out there with the squad in a non-playing capacity, and provide that influence... and what about spain?!...not that we need to think of another team we can't beat ;-)

Nah, England should be fine without Beckham...as been said above he was a substitute, only problem team probably lost its famous player in past year...I think he still should travel to SA, motivate his fellow players and motivate them...being big bro to them in other words))

Hi.. Friends I will accept your thoughts... But most experts expect that Becks will eventually be back.

But the only thing he could do well is execute free kicks and corners.
