1/26 - Teutonic Tuesday: After Leverkusen Kroos Past Hoffenheim, Jogi Would Loew Some Bayer Aspirin
With midfielders
Toni Kroos
and Mesut Oezil having breakthrough seasons,
Germany
coach Joachim Loew has a selection headache as the 2010 World Cup approaches. More on that, Loew's recent call-ups, Bremen/Bayern, Dortmund/Hamburg, and Ruud van Nistelrooij's transfer to Hamburg in this week's edition.

Kroos and Mueller should go to the World Cup. Both have a rare quality that the German team is missing. I would also consider Badstuber.

Is it not possible for Bayern to cut Kroos' loan deal short and call him back to Bayern in this January window ?? Also why did Bayern no put a clause in Kroos' loan deal that he cannot play against Bayern, how bad did Bayern think he was ?? This happened before Van Gaal came in right, so is it Rummenigge's decision.

@Akhil: I think you cannot have a clause like this. Bayern at the end of the day did the right thing and they will enjoy Kroos in the long run. He did not have a place in Bayern's starting line up and next season he will come back to Bayern as a different player.

Clubs use this clause pretty often in la liga and the premiership. And dude also think of the possibility of a Bayern owned player being key to Bayer Leverkusen winning the bundesliga, they have a thin squad and losing players would hurt them more than it would hurt Bayern.

@Akhil - Bayern has always been a "fair" team... If Neverkusen has loaned Kroos..Bayern wouldn't put sub-clauses for the same... Yes , many teams in Spain and England do it...But then how many teams would Loan good players (Ottl and Breno) to a derby rival...So as Sir Alex Ferguson says - when Bayern says something they mean it......

I do think that Bayern have a really good squad...especially the 2 wingers who would get into any side without a problem.....In the Bundesliga I support Borussia Dortmund, but Bayern are probably going to win it and might make a splash in the champions league where I bet on them to easily beat fiorentina to get to the quarters
