Match Analysis
Wow, what a night it was. I was so wrong before the game !
And today I woke up with a big smile, but was still wondering, was
Juventus
really such a disaster ? Can it be that a team who beat
Inter
at home just a few days ago and who only needed a draw play such bad football. Can it possibly be that
Diego
the player who I feared most in the Bundesliga did only have one good pass? And it can it be true that Bayern who had such a big problem in scoring this season, really put in 4 against an Italian team?
Or was Bayern really that good? Olic who I never thought would play a single game at Bayern from beginning fought and ran more than any other player I had even seen. And Schweinsteiger who I am criticizing every single week, was truly the man of the hour. A
real
number 10. Even
Mark van Bommel
the Anti-Footballer made almost no mistakes, spoke less, fouled less and was still completely in control of the game.
This was our game and our night. This season is too much as a Bayern fan with too many downs and now such a high. We still only ended up second in this group which means we will face a tough opponent in the next round. Bayern is still too weak to go all the way, but yesterday's win means that van Gaal has been given more time to build this team.

Mani, I knew you couldn't wait for your next post, following yesterday's performance. They simply kicked Juve's butt and played great football. Yes, even Van Bommel... As you said, they won't get too far this year and they still lack talent in the midfield, and a defined style, but it was a great night!

Bayern won because they played the same kind of pressing style that English teams play. Remember what happened to the Italians vs England last year? Same thing happened last night.I generally agree with your ratings (Olic, Bommel, Schweini), but Demichelis deserves a reprimand for gifting the opener, and I think Pranjic and Badstuber were much better than him at least.Looking ahead to the draw, I think Fiorentina/Lyon, Sevilla/Unirea, Arsenal (assuming their injury issues don't get any better), any team from group F except Barca, and even Man U and Real Madrid would be decent competition. Barca or Chelsea might be too much. What do you think?

@ Clark: I think Real Madrid and ManU will be too much as well. I have a feeling that after the euphoria last night, and if Barca gets first place, they will meet once again and Bayerm will suffer. I won't be too sad...

@Clark: Before tonight I would have said any team is too much for Bayern. Now things might change for the better. We are definitely not in the league of ManU, Chelsea and Barcelona. I am less afriad of Real Madrid. We have beaten them before.
