Wenger to be forced into buying 'out-and-out striker' in January after Van Persie comments
By Nicholas DJ
After comments made by Dutch international Robin van Persie claiming that he is not an 'out-and-out striker' brings up the need for Arsenal to delve into the transfer market come January to find 'the one'.Despite being the club's top goalscorer,it has become apparent that the former Feyenoord ace considers himself to be a second-striker or a winger, not a full striker.

Since joining De Kuip in 2004,van Persie is on the rise to having made 150 appearances for the club since his move to London and is also coming close to scoring 50 goals.Looking at these statistics,a striker would only be considered good if they scored in almost half the games they've played.Looking at RVP's record,he should have banged in almost 70 into the back of the net in his time at Arsenal if he were to be considered a striker,as the same could be said for his former Feyenoord team mate,Dirk Kuyt. The Liverpool winger has made over 100 appearances at the Kop and is also on the verge of making his 150th,but since he has been switched to the right and left wings in recent times, the ex-Utrecht man who signed for Dutch giants Feyenoord in 2003,a season before van Persie was poached by Frenchman Arsene Wenger, was on scintilating form in Holland and was able to score in more than half of his appearances for the club until he was to join Liverpool and now become on the opposite side of van Persie when playing in the top flight of English football.

But the lingering problem still remains.Either Wenger re-invests his interest in Bordeaux's striker Marouane Chamakh,he splashes out on a different striker or he puts Arshavin down as the 'out-and-out striker' he needs in his frontline since the departure of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor to 'Moneybags' Manchester City.Chamakh was the centre of attention when rumours were going around that the les Girondins favourite was linked in a move to London, where he would become part of a team that has most of the French national team in.

The likes of Samiar Nasri, who joined the Gunners from Marseille in 2008,is only one of them.23-year-old Abou Diaby is another in which came to London in 2006 from French outfit Auxerre in 2006 to bolster the midfield.Even Bacary Sagna, who rosed through the youth ranks, like Diaby, and came to Arsenal in hope of being part of the new 'French Revolution' with a few exceptions. It is all down to Chamakh and his love for life in France, where his partnership with ex-Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff have made the two gain high attention from top clubs in both the French and European leagues or he can start afresh, leave everything behind from Bordeaux and link up with some of France's best talents and be on the recieving end on Fabregas' killer balls or latch onto flick-ons from his 'new team-mate' Robin van Persie to finish off what could be a lovely move. The ball is in his court now.He decides what he wants to do.Wenger, nor Blanc can force him what to do.It's his actions that decide it all.

well...firstly for the array of attacking talent that Arsenal possess it is highly unlikely that they will let loose their purse strings for a new striker. That considering the van Persie injury. They have Bendtner, Eduardo to fill in that role etc vying for that place; Chamakh will mostly be headed to Juve to seemlessly replace the now aged Trezegol.

Firstly,Van Persie is now out for nearly the rest of the season. He is going to be out for months and it's unlikely that players like Arshavin,Walcott,Vela and Eduardo are going to fill in.Not to mention that Niklas Bendtner is also on the shelf as well.Secondly,I think that they will have to buy an 'out-and-out striker' in January. They cannot rely on RVP to do all of the work for them.He will have an off-form sometime and it is more likely that Eduardo and Bendtner will be out (one of them will be anyways) and then what? And lastly,Chamakh will probably have more interest in signing for Arsenal than he would for Juventus.Juve could just buy a different striker and plus most French players would prefer Arsenal because of Wenger. An
