Russia 2-0 Sweden
By Simon Head
Russia made it through to the quarter finals of Euro 2008 with a routine 2-0 win over a very limited Sweden.

The Swedes looked one-paced and lacking in attacking ideas, while the Russians, buoyed by the return from suspension of the influential Andrey Arshavin, looked a class act going forward.

A goal in either half gave Russia the win, with both scores coming from some superb team play.

Arshavin was at the heart of everything good that Russia produced, and he was part of the attack that created the opening goal of the game.

A superb sweeping team move ended perfectly with Roman Pavlyuchenko's strike, and in the second half Arshavin was on hand to finish off another great team goal.

Question marks still remain over their defence, and goalkeeper Akinfeev's apparent phobia for catching the ball, but when they're in attacking, they're up there with the best sides in the tournament.

They will be given a much sterner test against the Dutch, who have been arguably the most impressive side in the competition so far.

If both sides continue their positive approach to the tournament, it should make for a hugely entertaining game.
