Apple's CEO Steve Jobs Wins Carling Cup

Carling Cup hero Ben Foster watched videos of Tottenham players taking penalties on his video iPod just seconds before the shootout which ended with Manchester United winning the Carling Cup.

As manger Sir Alex Ferguson decided which players were going to take penalties after the match ended 0-0, Foster was looking at an iPod with goalkeeping coach Eric Steele.

"It is a new innovation for us," Foster said. "Eric brought it when he came to the club. I have never seen anything like it." Presumably, Foster has seen iPods before - but perhaps he has just never seen anything like studying the opposition on your iPod during the middle of a match.Incredible.

While Apple has already sold over 200 million iPods and leads the industry in innovation with its award winning Macintosh computers, it looks like Manchester United's goalkeeping coach Eric Steele is a bit of an entrepreneurial thinker himself.

Kudos to you Eric Steele. Really brilliant stuff.

Unbelievable ! Technology finally made its way into football. Maybe next is to look at video evidence during a game ? Long overdue in my opinion.
