If anyone still have doubts, let me make it very clear……..WE MEAN BUSINESS this season.
JT’s winner has now put us 5 points clear of United and yes, we mean business.
Sir Alex put
Rooney
as a lone striker over a 5 man midfield and so it was clear from the start that
he has come with the objective of a draw and gaining one point.
I had mentioned in my earlier post that Van Der Saar will have to be at his best to stop the
Chelsea
onslaught and he proved me right by making some crucial stops from Ivanovic and Anelka.
The 1st half approach by both teams was a bit cautious as the respective mid-fields cancelled out
each other. However, it was the 76th minute free kick from Lampard, which Terry glanced into the far
post, that proved to be the difference between the two teams.
The last 15 minutes witnessed pressure cooker scenes at the Bridge with yellow cards flowing out
left, right and centre.
To their credit United played quite a good game, perhaps one of their best this season. Although he
lacked support, Rooney was quite impressive upfront and helped out the defenders whenever required.
However, as usual, Man U are never gracious in defeat…………there are comments flowing in from all
around as to whether Chelsea should have been granted a free kick, whether Wes Brom was pulled down
in the box,
Drogba
was offside and the list continues.
The problem with free kicks is that no player/ fan at the receiving end will actually accept that it
was a free kick. The fact is, if Chelsea wouldn’t have scored from that free kick no one would have
ever complained that it wasn’t a free kick.
Man U fans will be ready to jump the gun on the referee but they so easily tend to forget that:
•
Jonny Evans
should have been red carded for that kick on Drogba
•
Valencia
was lucky not to be sent off for his two footer challenge on Lampard
• MORE IMPORTANTLY, Martin Atkinson is the same referee who helped Man U win against Man C by
allowing 7 minutes after announcing 4 minutes of stoppage time.
Guys, please be gracious in defeat.
Anyways, the good old days of Mourinho seems to be back at the fortress……1 goal conceded in the last
11 games in all competitions at the Bridge.
Those who follow the league for some seasons now will know that it would be foolish to draw
conclusions at such an early stage but anyways it’s a vital 5 point lead and daylight between the
BEST and the REST.
To conclude, I believe this season it will be a fight between the Chelsea Men and the Gunner Boys
with Man U finishing 3rd.
God
Bless!!!
Cheers

didya see dogba writhe in pain from the little brush he got from evans? if their was serious connection, drogba wudve been injured with a broken rib(yeah, now i do believe the bpl's new ronaldo is, drogba)... and yeah, valencia derserved red, but what about the shirt tugging by terry and lampards hand ball? not to mention the no. of times ivanovic impeded evra and giggs(if only they had dived...) and the freekick was given for....................... o great ankur, please tell me what the heck it was given for(and mybe, ill give u a hundred dollars if u give me a good reason) and oh, check the fifa rules, if a player PLAYS FOR THE BALL, offside shud be given, but hey, this is chelsea, all of their goals come from offside.(a free run from rooney was dissallowed cuz of offside, wen ashley played him on). last year, too, a goal was dissallowed, due to rooney NOT TELLING the LINESMAN what he was doing... wth??? great going chelsea, this is the level of football you play, this is how yall win, this is the blues... but what is sad is that yall destroy the beautiful game like no other team has ever done, but quite effectively, i must say...

You would think after 23 years Fergie would have learnt to be gracious in defeat. Even after all he has done as a manager it is what stops me from having respect for the guy. He has nothing to prove any more so why the predictable, childish behaviour? But don't get too excited Ankur - how many times have Man U been lagging behind early/mid season but take over at the end as their competitors hit the bad times??? Too many unfortunately...

What utter codswallop. I wouldn't say putting 5 across the midfield suggested Fergie was looking for a point—when has he ever, in over 30 years of managing in the top flight, ever gone looking for a single point in a league game? Rather the objective was to prevent Chelsea from dominating that area and then look to get bodies up in support of Rooney whenever possible...a tactic they pulled off very well. A Chelsea fan talking about anyone else being ungracious in defeat really takes the biscuit though. Sir Alex may (quite rightly after yesterday) harangue the officials, but to the best of my knowledge nobody has yet sent the referee death threats and forced him into retirement.. Oh, and you do know that if the referee adds on 4 minutes of injury time, but two goals and a substitution are made during that period, then it is perfectly reasonable to add on another few minutes, don't you? Don't you???

i must say man u was not in best.........they are really missing RONALDO........man u always got lucky as they always score goals in last minutes of the game........in last season they are far behind liverpool in league table........but scoring late goals(most of them are lucky goals) make them to top the league........anywayz i m saying all this bcoz they got lucky all bcoz of attacking opponent team.......this season in few games only man u is attacking......most of the time man u is struggling to get the ball.......match against man city was the only game i thnk in which man u is playing like last season........so this season no chance for man u.............

@ankur, in extra time, the exact stoppage time has to be added, while the 90 mins stoppages are cut down to 35-40%, and added.... btw, man city players didnt take 20-25 seconds to get substituted. nd btw, we scored in the 6th min. for that, anothr min was added, man city cud hav scored den, bt it was fair...
