Brazil look really good, defensively solid and devastating attack on the break. Of the Europeans, as long as they qualify, Germany have the ability to do it,well get to the final, not sure they have the winning mentality in a final, but they can easily get to the final.

i'm for Spain. England and Germany can do well, surely. Brazil have opened up their cards last year, so other teams will have time to prepare a solution. Argentina will be the most unpredictable should they manage to quality

hmmm hard question...I hope my country will qualify cuzz we have great players and amazing team...heheh we need to win in the match before cuzz we are second in the group...Heheh about the winner hmmm I would like to c Germany or England on the top cuzz permanently they play the best. I like Argentina but they are far from being on the top....maybe Spain is good but against Bosnia in the qualification match they didn't play the best match, I think Germany or England will win the tittle, maybe Russia could be big sensation....lets wait:)

Spain play the best football and have the best midfield and forwards in the world. The dark horses could be France as they are bringing through some talented players like Yoann Gourcuff and Hatem Ben Arfa, plus they have a great striker in Benzema.

Come to think of it...Ver rarely does a pre-tournament fav lift the trophy...Lot depends on if the team ripes in the right time...getting a couple of favourable schedules, key players being available, refs making /not making correct decions at key matches....All the names mentioned in the list (apart from Teddy's sarcastic ones) could be champs...

@Stewart: France is a very dark horse these days. They are in real danger for not qualifying. With the current coach they do not have the slightest chance of winning this tournament. And also do not deserve it. @PP: Netherlands is always a favorite, but similar to Spain (before the EURO) they fail to go all the way in such a competition. They definitely have the players to do so.

Yeah, this is one very curios ostrich :), i'm just kidding , if we have big big big luck next weak, ROI must loose 2 matches to qualify us to WC2010. I think Marcello Lippi and Giovanni Trapattoni have a word to qualify Italy and ROI and leave us on 3th place. But the football is interesting game, and everything is possible to happened.

For me Ghana won the game against Uruguay yesterday. They were by far the better team. That cheat No.9 who handballed the goal is the devil himself. LOL @Proudofblackstars! FIFA can't do that, silly. The ball has to COMPLETELY cross the goal line. That was just showing his dedication to the team. He's a hero. He didn't give a flying s**t if Ghana scored the penalty. He just tryed to save his team. That's excatly what he did.
