Trying this new site, lets see how it
goes
! I'm a football fanatic, live in
England
, but am a bit disenchanted with the
standard
and culture of the game outside of the big four teams. So this season i have dedicated myself to watching the other leagues, although i have not seen as much La Liga as i would have liked. Maybe next season i will watch more Argentine-Brazilian-Mexican and American football!
I however have a lot of specialism in French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, and African football in general, so if you want to know anything on those topics, i could help, oh and
Arsenal
ofcourse! I am also a fan of International football, i know most of my geography from football!
Looking forward to 2009/10 already, Arsenal's season was over by Christmas, Dortmund drew way too many games,
Milan
never challenged, Madrid have a rotten board and squad, so i've had a lot of time on my hands.
This summer i willbe watching the Confederations Cup, World Cup Qualifications and maybe a
youth
tournament in the UEFA U-21 or the
Toulon
Tournament, so football never ends!

Hi Stanley, could it be possible that we held a discussion under one of Raphael Honigstein's Guardian columns a couple of weeks ago.? Your self-description and interests just make me wonder.Yours, "Zarathustra".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2009/apr/27/jurgen-klinsmann-sacked-bayern-munich-bundesligaI hope my opinion didn't sound too harsh for you - English is not my mother tongue. Actually, I enjoyed our discussion. I am also a little bit of a philosopher but more into law than economics.

No, it was not harsh at all, there are others that will start swearing and calling me 'an idiot/clue less' for saying some valid things! It's also good to hear the view of someone who actually lives in Germany and knows more about Bayern than i do, i don't speak any German so the amount of information i could get is limited to the excellent Rafa and bundesligatalk.com and a few other places, hope i don't sound like a stubborn 'pundit', some of them in England really drive me mad!!!Could tell you were a lawyer, and you could make a good one, you never want to be shown as being wrong and word your points very well!

Thanks, Stanley. No, you didn't sound like a "stubborn" at all. I really enjoyed your point of view. I was just trying to argue against that user "footinho" - apparently a Bayern fan from Munich. On Monday I will go to Istanbul and watch the Uefa Cup final on Wednesday (I won some free tickets). Nice to meet you.

Now I have to prepare my suitcases. Shakthar should be favorites. I will try to mingle with the Ukranian fans and post some vids later. I am into Eastern Europe, I have to say.

Wow, which team do you support then?!! That said free tickets are always good, big blow Diego is missing, but Bremen always play nice football, hope Ozil does something! Both Ukraine sides impressed me loads as well, not much in the defensive side of things, but they are ruthless in creating and scoring......maybe a bit like Bremen then!! Enjoy your trip, let me know how it goes, keep safe!!

Probably, I will cheer for Bremen in that particular tie as I have some sympathies for the team. But I will try to enjoy the experience of that Uefa Cup final whatever the score. You are right on Bremen. Without Diego it'll be tough although there is hope that Ozil will shine - after all his family comes from Turkey so Istanbul might be just the right place for fine performance. But chances are 60/40, 70/30 in favour of Donezk I suppose. A friend of mine told me that Mertesacker will be out as well...I will inform you on my trip to Istanbul once it is over.Bye.
