It was a huge disappointment for us to get knocked out by Barcelona in the 94th minute. The Champions League is the biggest competition, it was the trophy that everybody at the club really wanted. But we are all professionals and will continue to do our best in the remaining games. Finishing in third place is important for direct Champions League qualification. And at the end of the season, we have the FA Cup final to look forward to. Naturally, we will fight very hard and try to come home with the trophy. 
 
I think we will be even more determined to win it next season after coming so close yet again. When you play for a top team like Chelsea, you have decent chance to go all the way every year, and I'm optimistic for next season.  Along with Man United, Liverpool and Barcelona, we are among the most consistent teams and it is no coincidence that were in the final again. But you need a bit of luck, too. Unfortunately, we didn't have that against Barcelona.

its very unfortunate to knocked out like this...we still cant believe...n dont knw y chelsea is always at the receiving end.but i am sure u will be more determind to win it next season.all the best micha!!and hope we will win FA cup at least.

I was very disappointed after the referee ruined months of hardwork for you and the team. However, I am very happy you are looking ahead, after all, unfortunately there is nothing that can be changed in the past (and believe me I wish there was a replay of the game with a better referee but I knew this wouldn`t happen....). I am 100% sure you will win the Champions League next season with Chelsea, as long as you work hard and do your best- and you always give 110% on the pitch- there is absolutely nothing you have to worry about- being ambitious and hardworking as you are always pays off, no matter what:) I hope you play many years for Chelsea from now on- your commitment to your job is what motivates me the most:)

@Michael Ballack - It was a good effort. To be honest, I am content that Barcelona scored a last minute equaliser as I just wouldn't have been happy with another Man Utd vs Chelsea final. But, it's good you still have a positive attitude for the rest of the season. Oh, and loved the way you guys surrounded the ref - he kinda deserved it! ;-)

It was a great effort by yourself and Chelsea but you have to look ahead to the future and for you it is at Bayern. Bayern are desperate to have you back and I know you are eager to come back aswell. Hopefully we will see you back at bayern soon. Good luck for the rest of the season.Ps. I would have done the same if the referee had denied me 4 clear penalties in one game!

There is a lot of hope for next season as the Chelsea squad will be stronger with the return of Joe Cole, Deco and Carvalho. These players will be like new signings and will make Chelsea stronger and cope better with injuries than last season. With Joe Cole returning Anelka can support Drogba, with Deco there will be more flair in the midfield and Carvalho is just a brilliant defender. I can see Chelsea winning many trophies next season if the bad luck goes away and Chelsea don't lose any key players to injury.

I think the ref has to have a long hard look at himself and realise that he robbed Chelsea of a final. Best of luck in the FA Cup final and next season especially in the CL. I believe you will win it because this injustice will make Chelsea stronger.

I'm really sorry for the defeat, Michael. It wasn't unfair, but we all know football's like that. However, I'm confident you'll win this so difficult and worthy trophy. I was disappointed with defeat. But in football we need to luck, and was not a good day for Chelsea. You are a brilliant player and has a good team to win a championship! I'm no Chelsea fan, but i want to see you lift a major trophy, your body of work in your career deserves it. Maybe not the Premier League next season as that if for Arsenal, bring back the World Cup in 2010, that's the big one, as skipper as well will be awesome!!

WOW, all i hear are sob stories and all you blaming everyone & everything but the players themselves. Blaming the ref is juvenile and ignorant- like blaming the weather or the field. Yes the ref was garbage, but is this the first time in history? Get over it, b/c you need to look in the mirror for someone to blame. Did you not have 180 minutes to win? Chelski have never understood that in the end, after everything is said & done, you need to shut your mouth and talk with your football. That's why Mourinho is a champion. So until you understand this you will forever be doomed to be the first loser, whining like some 12yo girls, forever doomed to fail...

UpNFuFu it is ironic that you say the players should take the blame but Arsenal your team who have not won a trophy since 2005. Who should take the blame for this misfortune, Wenger for only buying young players who have never won trophies and selling good ones like Flamini, Hleb, Henry, Pires and Gilberto. Or perhaps players like Fabregas and Adebayor who should make more of a challenge on the premier league than they did this season. Good luck mate after seeing Arsenal this season they need it if key players like Fabregas or Adebayor leave.

Have to agree with Up on this one! At the end of the day penalties were not awarded but had Chelsea scored goals from open play then we would have seen Chelsea v Man U again....sadly it didn't happen. I am an Arsenal supporter and we got whipped by Man U and it is because we have a definate lack of experience. Anyway all you people saying that the ref was so bad he needs to be shot is a bit extreme, i know people are angry but seriously grow up a bit.

@ Nick Winfield (& all the other Chelski fans)- I have NEVER blamed anyone but our players & manager- equally. I never whine & complain & bitch & moan. I keep my opinion to myself & support the club unconditionally. I dont blog and act like I know better than the manager & all the coaches & staff every single day & question the tactics, selection, referee, subs, weather, pitch, other teams, or anything at all. I dont call for the head of the manager, or cry out for some impotent foreign tycoon with no sense at all of football, history, tradition or how a Premier League team should be run to save your mediocre, shoddy stadium & fans & jersey's & reputation. I dont believe in plowing 100s of millions of pounds for a R.Madrid style unsustainable fix & then firing the manager who finally wins (good luck replacing Mourinho hahaha). I am the first to admit ManUr were superior on the field (as were Barca), and deserved their place in the final. Chelski play ugly, dirty, negative, cheating football with Viagra finances (face it, youre flacid & flailing in the wind w/o his money) in front of empty stands (who wants to watch that?) & still lose- and then you have the nerve to complain about it afterwards & blame everything but yourselves. Thats the difference between you & me- between The Arsenal & Chelski. "The Milan players will come on the cheap to Chelsea if Ancelotti arrives so players like Pirlo, Gattuso and Ronaldinho won't cost much. " hahaha. Whenever things go wrong, all I have to do is think about Chelski & people like you to make me feel all better. You are obviously such an expert. Thanks, I just friend requested you =)

I agree with UpNFuFu... Ref was and idiot, but you all need to face with one more thing, Drogba had his chances to score, and he didn't , so face it, this is football, the game you play till the final whistle of the judge, and Chelsea didn't do that... They played cowardly at the end, instead of trying to score, men they had 180 minutes, they unknowingly moved to their side, and waited the end, and Barça managed to score with 10 players, Barça managed to score to the club who has probably the best defense, strong, tight and disciplined... And that's football...

You don't pass judgement, um that strange I think your a moron if you say this. Chelsea play anti-football. I agree Chelsea beating your team 4-1 proves this. haha guys chill, its over. barca are thru like it or not, can u honestly say we didnt deserve it. we played our game till the dying secs and if we got sth out of it its cos we didnt count on breaks. hard luck to chelsea but the ref robbed us as well..hellooo henry shirt tugging in 1st leg > clear pk. and did abidal deserve that red card? nope. how abt that thing with alves? dont think so. drogba cost u the game, and maybe the ref too (we concede the handball) and sorry michael but you could have played a lil better..honestly i hardly noticed you were on :(..no disrespect. but see thebreaks evened out so maybe we can put this behind us..peace chelsea fans.
