USA vs Brazil 2-0 - Half Time Report
By Dan K
Wow.

I have been watching the 1st half of USA vs Brazil in the Confederations Cup Final and I gotta say, the US is definitely showing that they can grind out a good performance when they need to.

Yes, it's half-time. Yes, there's still 45 minutes. Yes, a lot can happen.

But from what I just saw, the USA players are able to pull together and "park the bus" in front of their goal. Brazil have for the most part been limited to taking shots from long range or acute angles, which haven't bothered US goalkeeper Tim Howard. When he has been called into action, the giant goalkeeper has shown himself to be the kind of goalkeeper that has seen him be a success at Everton.

The goals themselves were cheeky. Dempsey and Donovan providing the goals for the US. The first a clever flick from Dempsey, and Donovan capping off a brilliant US counter-attack, turning his defender and wrong-footing the Brazilian goalkeeper.

So far Kaka, Robinho and Fabiano have been unable to provide any response from Brazil, but with the three of them in the team, there's always a chance.

There's 45 minutes to go. It's still all to play for.
